The motto resonates deeply with the legacy of two towering figures from our region—Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna and Rani Channamma—whose lives exemplify the spirit of sacrifice and patriotism.

Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna, a fearless warrior and freedom fighter, led a valiant resistance against British colonial rule. With unmatched bravery and strategic brilliance, he fought tirelessly for the liberation of his motherland, sacrificing his life to uphold the values of freedom and justice. His undying spirit and commitment to the cause of independence remain a source of inspiration for generations.

Likewise, Rani Channamma, the legendary queen of Kittur, stood as a symbol of courage and defiance. She led her people in a heroic battle against the British, refusing to yield to their unjust policies. Her leadership, determination, and ultimate sacrifice continue to inspire those who strive for justice and equality.
